[Legacy Report] IEEE seminar by Dr. Sushobhan Avasthi on "Facilities at Centre for Nano Science and Engineering, IISc Bangalore"
The Centre for Nano Science and Engineering, CeNSE, is a new department at the Indian Institute of Science that came into being in 2011. We currently have an interdisciplinary faculty, a state of the art clean room for device fabrication and a comprehensive micro and nano characterization facility. We host a PhD program and an MTech program. We also run a INUP (Indian Nanoelectronics Users Program) through which our facilities is made available to outside users. The aim of this talk is to familiarize students and faculty with the capabilities of the Center and explain how they can access the very advanced facilities at CeNSE. The talk will be of interest to faculty and 3rd/4th year students from all disciplines -- CeNSE has members from Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Materials Engineering, Physics and Chemistry departments. You should come to the talk if: You think that Indian universities cannot have cutting edge research infrastructure; You think that Indian universities do not pursue cutting edge inter disciplinary research; Or if you think that Indian universities do not have a collaborative and vibrant research atmosphere. By the end of the talk hopefully I would have changed your mind!
