A Two day Workshop on “Advances in Digital Signal Processing”conducted during 19th – 20th Feb. 2016, Co-Sponsored by IEEE Vizag Bay Sub Section, Organized by MVGR IEEE Student Branch (01921) & Departments of ECE and EEE, is inaugurated in MVGR College of Engineering(A), Vizianagaram on 19th February 2016. Chief Guest of the function Dr. N. Balaji, Professor & HOD, Department of ECE from JNTU Vizianagaram, Dr. K. V. L Raju, Principal, MVGR College of Engineering, Conveners of the Workshop Dr.D.K.Mohantha, Professor & HOD of EEE, Dr.R.Ramana Reddy, Professor &HOD of ECE Department, IEEE Student Branch Coordinator, Mr.G.Manoj,IV Year ECE, were present in the inaugural function and addressed the participants. 293 student participants from 10Engineering Colleges attended the workshop, 24 IEEE student members of MVGR College of Engineering had actively coordinated the event.  Out of 293 participants 45 students are IEEE members and 248 are non IEEE members.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Inaugural function

 

Session I: Dr. N.Balaji, Professor & HOD, Department of ECE from JNTU  Vizianagaram delivered a lecture on importance of DSP Processors in Current Scenario. He emphasized on Arduino ,Rasberry Pi and Beagal Bone Black Processors and gave case studies like GAIT Authentication and Character Recognition systems.

Session II:Dr.Ch.Srinivasu, Principal, DIET, Anakapalli gave lecture on Key issues in the design of FIR and IIR Filters and their applications.

Session III: Mr.P.Surya Prasad, Associate Professor, Department of ECE, MVGR College of Engineering(A), Vizianagaram spoke on Bio-Medical Signal processing and usage of Signal Processing tools for ECG, EEG, EMG and ENG Signal Analysis.

Session VII:Dr.D.K.Mohantha, Dean Collaborative Research, HOD, EEE, MVGR College of Engineering (A),Vizianagaram briefed about the importance of Digital Signal Processing and its relevance to Various Engineering disciplines and its applications in industry.

The Workshop is concluded with a valedictory function in MVGR College of Engineering, Vizianagaram on 20th February 2016. Chief Guest of the function Dr.AbrahamVarghese ,Vice Chairman , IEEE  Vizag Bay SubSection , Dr. K. V. Speaking on the occasion Chief Guest of valedictory function Dr. AbrahamVarghese, Vice Chairman, IEEE  Vizag Bay SubSectionbriefed about the Organizational structure of IEEE and encouraged the students and faculty to become members of IEEE.He talked about the advantages of being a member of professional chapters especially for technical students. He briefed about roles and responsibilities of executive committee members of student chapter and the ways in which they can be more active. He also encouraged MVGR IEEE Student Branch to start a IEEE woman chapter. Certificates were distributed to all the participants.

Proposing vote of thanks one of the convener of the workshop, Dr.D.K.Mohantha, Dean Collaborative Research, HOD, EEE, MVGR (A) thanked IEEE Vizag bay subsection for cosponsoring the event both technically and financially.
