[Legacy Report] IEEE GRIET SB TALK ON ATTRACTION vs. DISTRACTION
Attraction is a person’s interest or liking something or someone, whereas distraction is something that prevents someone from concentrating on something else. Attraction and distraction is one the main issues faced by students of the present world. If not addressed, these problems may lead to many mishaps in near future. In order to address these issues, IEEE GRIET SB- WIE Affinity group has organized a talk on ATTRACTION Vs.DISTRACTION. The speaker of the talk Ms.Mani Swetha is well experienced in educating people to overcome distractions. She worked with many companies and colleges such as Sierra Atlantic, Ultra tech Cements,Gurunanak group of Institutions, Aurora College, HITAM, BVRIT and many more. She pursued her engineering in CSIT and MBA from IIPM (hr&marketing).
The session began with a brief introduction of the speaker to the audience by an Exe-Com Member. The speaker briefed the attendees the details of the day’s talk before starting the session. The session was quite interactive and all the audienceactively involved. Many examples where given about WhatsApp, Facebook etc. This helped in holding the interest of the audience in the talk.
The second speaker of the talk Ms.Sudhisha , explained and educated people about life skills for achieving happiness and heights in life. She emphasized on topics such as social skills, Empathy, thinking skills which were like the backbone to success.
The session then moved on to the topic “Difference between Attraction and Distraction”. Ms.Swetha has given many points which clearly show the difference between them. She then conveyed a message which says “Handle a situation:Don’t say NO instead say NOT NOW”.
Towards the end of the session, The Branch Counselor of IEEE GRIET SB, Dr.Y.Vijayalata, then presented a memento of appreciation to Ms.Mani Swetha and Ms.Sudisha for being instrumental in motivating and inspiring the audience.
The talk ended with positive feedback from the audience.
