[Legacy Report] Celebrations of International Women’s Day -SBA-15721
IEEE WIE AG along with Women’s cell celebrated International Women’s Day on 8th March 2016 in Seminar Gallery-2. The programme started at 10.30am to 12:30pm with the lighting of lamp by the Chief Guest Sri. S. Shalini Reddy, Sr.Manager HR & Head, Special Initiatives TCS along with Director Dr. P. Jayarami Reddy and Principal Dr. B. Sreenivas Reddy.
The Chief Guest gave some valuable information regarding the willpower of women and her strong determination. She told many real facts about women. “Gender parity should be achieved in every field and it is possible with strong determination". She concluded saying that sixth sense is the safety measure that every girl should have, accept the challenge ,don’t breakup, fly high and put all focus and efforts on career for creating better future. Around 250 girl students attended the event.
The annual reports of IEEE WIE and Women’s cell of GPREC were read out by IEEE WIE faculty advisor Dr.V. Anantha Lakshmi and Dr.D.Kavitha, convenor of Women’s cell respectively. Prizes were given to all the winners of the events conducted under IEEE WIE and Women’s cell. The programme ended with the cultural activities (songs and dances) by the girl students.
