[Legacy Report] A Three Day National Workshop on “Approach for Research on Power Electronics, Power and Control systems Engineering”
The three-day national workshop on “Approach for Research in Power Electronics ,Power and Control Systems Engineering”(ARPEPCSE-2016) conducted by Dept. of Electrical Engineering,A.U College of Engineering(A).The inaugural was graced by the chief guest Hon’ble I/C Vice Chancellor Prof. E.A.Narayana.The workshop comprised of ten sessions taken up by knowledge sources from various reputed educational institutes of the country. Some sessions were taken up by the internal faculty of the department who possess knowledge in these fields.Various topics like the smart grid, micro-grid, “introduction to smart grids”,” multi-attribute decision-making method based optimal location of svc device in transmission systems”, ” Traditional Power Generation Systems Problems”,” Switch-mode Power Electronic mode Power ElectronicConversion Conversion - Control Principles Control Principles” ,”Object-Oriented Modeling & Simulation of Power Electronics systems”,” Integrated Electrical Machines & DriveSystems Lab (IEMDS@) for improving Research in Eng. Colleges”,” Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) and Wide-Area Monitoring (WAMs)”,” Micro-grid Protection” are covered.The sessions highly benefitted the participants and the students. The workshop ended at 05.00 P.M on 30th June,2016 with the discussion and feedback session from the participants.
