[Legacy Report] HTML Design Workshop
Description
The HTML Design Workshop was conducted by IEEE Computer Society and was aimed at enhancing the technical prowess of students. The students were made to build a fully fledged website from scratch using HTML. A total of 136 tags were employed and used in constructing a personalized website.
The Event
The event started with an introduction of HTML. The speaker Faisal, a 4th year CSE student, spoke at length about the importance of learning HTML in today’s era, it’s ubiquitous nature and it’s capabilities. Following this, Iftekhar, another 4th year CSE student, explained the basics of HTML such as tags, image insertion and aligning. Faisal went on to explain Linking, Anchor tags, and audio insertion. Finally, Iftekhar explained about the table tags, borders and changing fonts. Following this, 45 minutes were given to participants to come up with a creative website that displayed their details. The participants did a fantastic job and came up with unique websites that displayed their creative talent.
Conclusion
The workshop achieved its objective and demonstrated the basics of HTML effectively. Participants were given feedback forms and were also given additional resources such as w3schools to continue learning more about HTML.
