[Legacy Report] IEEE Day 2016 Celebration & Workshop on Cloud Computing using Microsoft Azure
IEEE Computer Society GLA University Student Branch Chapter, IEEE IAS GLA University Student Branch Chapter & IEEE Women in Engineering GLA University Student Affinity Group and Dept of Computer Engineering & Applications in association with IEEE Uttar Pradesh Section & YP AG U.P. Section celebrated the IEEE Day on 4th October, 2016 with great zeal and enthusiasm.
Being the member of such great association it was an honor for us to celebrate this day. Many senior members of IEEE were part of this celebration.
IEEE day is a global event to be held on the first Tuesday of October, annually. It celebrates the anniversary of the first time IEEE members gathered to share technical ideas in 1884. IEEE not only defines standards in the field of technology but is also responsible for future Engineering. While the world benefits from what’s new, IEEE focused on what’s next.
The Chief Guest of our event was Prof. D. S. Chauhan, Vice Chancellor, GLA University with all dignities Prof. Charul Bhatnagar, Dr. Dilip Kumar Sharma (Faculty Adviser, IEEE CS/IAS/WIE GLA University Student Branch Chapter), Mr Saurabh Anand , Mr. Neeraj Kumar Varshneya, IEEE Student Branch Chair Mr Aamir Khan, along with all the students of M.TECH. and BTech CSE. IEEE day theme “Leveraging technology for a better tomorrow“, is something you will find today’s global IEEE community engaged in each and every day. It is an activity that successive generations of IEEE members and volunteers have been doing for more than a century. And after that Prof. D. S. Chauhan gave the motivational speech on his experience with IEEE publications/activities and to contribute our innovative ideas for welfare of the society. Prof. Dilip Kumar Sharma gave the theme introduction about IEEE Day and he also gave the talk on the benefits of joining the IEEE Professional Society for enhancing the technical education. Dr. Dilip Kumar Sharma told the importance of being the member of this huge association and advantages of being part of this professional body and explaining s theme of IEEE Day “Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow”.

On the occasion of IEEE Day 2016, IEEE CS GLAU Student Branch Chapter, IEEE IAS Student Brnach Chapter , IEEE WIE GLAU Student Affinity Group and Dept of Computer Engineering & Applications in association with IEEE Uttar Pradesh Section and YP AG U.P. Section organized a one Day Workshop on Cloud Commuting using Microsoft Azure. There were 140 participants in the workshop. All were awarded with certificate of participation. The active IEEE members were awarded with Gifts & certificates. Overall the event was full of knowledge. Anchoring was done by Mr Saurabh Anand and Mr. Aamir Khan.
