Information Retreival and Data Mining Research Group, Department of Computer Engineering & Applications in association with CSI GLAU Student Branch/ Mathura Chapter, IEEE U.P. Section and IEEE Computer Society/IAS GLAU Student Branch Chapter organized Seminar on December 19, 2016. Prof. Raj Bhatnagar University of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA has visited to GLA University Mathura on December 19, 2016. He delivered Seminar on “Data Mining Algorithms and Their Scalability in Cloud Environments". Dr. Bhatnagar is professor of Computer Science at University of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. In his seminar he discussed about how big multinational IT firms using Cloud and its benefit to them, further he extend his discussion to how one can extend algorithm currently used in field of DATA ANALYTICS to new paradigms that will able to work with cloud and big data environment. He discussed about Google’s Map Reduce paradigm that is widely used for programming and converting current algorithm for processing and analysis Big Data. Welcome address and introduction of speaker was given by Prof A S Jalal, HoD CEA Dept, the seminar was co-ordinated by Prof. Dilip Kumar Sharma. Members of IR and DM research group Ashish Sharma, Rahul Pradhan, Deepak Mangal, Avinash Samuel, Aamir Khan and M. Tech. & PhD CSE scholars discussed their ongoing projects with Dr. Bhatnagar and benefited by his valuable situation.
