Information Retreival and Data Mining Research Group, Department of Computer Engineering & Applications in association with CSI GLAU Student Branch/ Mathura Chapter, IEEE U.P. Section and IEEE Computer Society/IAS GLAU Student Branch Chapter organized Seminar on December 24, 2016. Prof. Rajkumar Buyya University of Melbourne, Australia visited to GLA University Mathura on December 24, 2016. He delivered Seminar on " New Frontiers in Cloud Computing for BigData, IoT, and Smart Cities Applications and Opportunities for Systems and Data Mining Researchers ". Prof. Rajkumar Buyya is Professor and Director, Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems (CLOUDS) Lab at University of Melbourne, Australia & also serving as the CEO, Manjrasoft Pvt Ltd, Melbourne, Australia. In his seminar he discussed about Cloud computing, SMAC (social, mobile, analytics and cloud) concepts and its benefit to research community and industry, He discussed about big data environment and also discussed abut ANEKA Software platform that is widely used for programming and converting current algorithm for processing and analysis Big Data etc application. Aneka is a platform and a framework for developing distributed applications on the Cloud. Prof A S Jalal, HoD CEA Dept, welcomed the speaker by presenting a buke to him. Introduction of speaker was given the by Prof. Dilip Kumar Sharma. Seminar was also co-ordinated by Prof Sharma. Members of Information Retrieval and Data Mining research group Ashish Sharma, Rahul Pradhan, Shashi Shekhar, Aamir Khan and M. Tech. & PhD CSE scholars discussed their ongoing thesis work with Prof Buyya and benefited by his valuable situation.
