[Legacy Report] Recognition of event details in 3D video monitoring

The comparison of a recognition of important details of threat events by untrained and trained observers in typical 2D and 3D monitoring situations is presented. The real 3D cameras would allow to easily recognize the details of the situations by the operator. For example, counting people or estimating the distances between objects will be faster and more exact. These advantages of stereovision visualization are confirmed by the results of the authors’ experiments.
