We will meet at the Caspian Cafe starting at 12 noon (Dec 31st) and the presentation will start at 12:30. All attendees will need to plan to select an item off the lunch menu (no other admission charge applies) and we will request individual checks. The UCSB International Capture The Flag (also known as the iCTF) is a distributed, wide-area security exercise, whose goal is to test the security skills of the participants. The iCTF contest is organized by Prof. Giovanni Vigna of the Department of Computer Science at UCSB, and is held once a year

Biography: Software Systems Engineer for The MITRE
Corporation and is a graduate from the University of Colorado,
Colorado Springs. He has obtained both a B.S. in Computer Engineering
and a Masters of Engineering in Information Assurance from UCCS. Over
the last four years he has prepared and led classes of students to participate in
yearly computer based capture the flag competitions teaching lectures on web
based vulnerabilities to reversing binaries executable for vulnerability analysis.
