A BRIEF REPORT ON THE ACTIVITIES OF ADASTRA-2017

Mr.ViswajitKampati, SP, SiriCilla, an alumnus of SNIST was the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony of Adastra’17, A National Level Techno-Management Robotics and Literary Symposiumon 23rd January, 2017.He addressed all the enthusiast engineers to continue the act of learning and enjoy the life in what you are doing and gave his valuable suggestions for the aspirants of Civil Services. As the Guest of Honor, Dr. LakshminarayanaMerugu, chair of IEEE Hyderabad Section, showed the right act of agile learning. He guided the students in the path of rightful activities. Director, Dr.P.Narasimha Reddy and Principal, Dr.K.Sumanth shared their views on student activities in SNIST and encouraged the students to aim higher and reach the stars.

 

ADASTRA’17consisted of more than 50 events, to name few like Paper Presentation, Poster Presentation which had a huge response from the students across different Engineering colleges on wide topics in the branches of Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science and Information Technology, Mechanical, Biotechnology and general topics named under Tech Inferno.

 

Workshop on “Cyber Forensics” was conducted by Sangeet Chopra, a professional Ethical hacker and co-founder CyberCure Technologies which had a hall full of participants majorly from 1st and 2nd year students, A 2-day workshop on “Quad Copter Design” was conducted by Vipul from RoboKart.com where complete hands-on session and practical along with the kits and demo was covered too.“Make your own Power Bank” workshop was conducted by The Faradays Club of Electrical Engineers of SNIST where students were shown of how to make an affordable power bank themselves; Roboticsevents like’’F1-race’’, ‘’Robo Soccer’’, ‘’Line Follower’’, and ‘’Indian Terrain’’ which encouraged students from interdisciplinary branches to make competitive robots for the participate with the healthy spirits among themselves.

 

‘’Code Busters’’events which focused on hard coding in the names ‘’mini IEEEXtreme’’, ‘’Java Challenge’’, ‘’C-Challenge’’; Quiz events in the fields of ‘’Mech Maniacs’’, ‘’Electro Buzz’’,‘’E-query’’, ’’Computer Champs’’ were conducted where large number of students participated with great enthusiasm. Literary events were handled by Civil Services Aspirants Club which included “Mock parliament” which was a simulated version of our Lower house, The Lok Sabha where students acted as leaders of important Politicalparties. Other events like“Speak up”, “Debate”, “Tiny tales”, “Pen it Down”, “Q-Fiesta”etc were also shown interest. Pandemoniumevents such as Math Marathon, ‘Short pitch cricket’, ‘Treasure hunt’, ‘Tug of war’,’ Kabaddi’ were conducted with the help of our Physical Department sir, Mr. Ravi Kumarand LAN Gaming which attracted the PC gamers with large number of entries.

 

The Valedictory session was held on the 26th January 2017 after the Republic Day celebrations in the college where Dr. RanganayakuluBodavala, MD of ThriveSolar Energy (P) Ltd. as the chief guest of the function. His Stressed the importance of technology in every field and the impact of Solar power for the future generations to come.

Science is not just a subject. For the students of SNIST it’s a way of life. ADASTRA’17 was organized by IEEE-SNIST student branch and Civil Services Aspirants Club. Headed by Murlidhar Sarda, Chair IEEE-SNIST student branch and Sankeerth PotuPresident CSAC who’re passionate about technology and believe staunchly in the fact that when used in the right way with the proper guidance and effective teamwork, science can further our reach towards success.

With the motto of “Divided by Student Clubs, United by the Spirit of SNIST” aptly suits this year’s ADASTRA, as there was a helping hand from Indian Society of Technical Society (ISTE) Students’ Chapter SNIST, The Robotics Club SNIST,Faradays club of SNIST, Innovation and Creativity Club (ICC) SNIST, Emerging Computers Arena (ECA) SNIST, The Electronix Club (TEC) SNIST and Society for Automobile Engineering (SAE) SNIST

The 3 day  techno-mangement-robotics&literary symposium has attracted over 2000 students all over the country.The main sponsors of this three day events are BYJU’S Classes, TATA Motors, Pragna IAS Academy, Treez Corner, TummyKart, Stumagz and Thick shake Factory
