First Executive Committee meeting held.

Minutes of the 1st Executive Committee Meeting of IEEE Vizag Bay Sub Section

Date : 24-2-2017 Time: 19:00 -20:30 hrs, Venue: Hotel Dasapalla, Visakhapatnam.

List of Attendees:

1. Dr. Abraham Varughese, Chair

2. Smt M. Vijaya, Secretary

6. Dr. S. Lakshminarayana Past Chair

Sr. K.V. Sriram and Dr. K. Padma granted leave of absence.

1. Dr. S. Lakshminarayana Chair-2016 IEEE Vizag Bay Sub Section informed the slate for the year 2017. He also mentioned the activities done in the past two years and thanked all the EC members for the constant support for the growth of IEEE in this geographical area.

2. Dr. Abraham Varughese took over Chair IEEE Vizag Bay Sub Section and Smt M. Vijaya took over Secretary IEEE Vizag Bay Sub Section. Dr. Abraham and Smt Vijaya thanked all the members and in particular to the Nomination Committee members at IEEE Hyderabad Section for their confidence bestowed on them. They promised that they will extend all the support and will work with full commitment to meet the objectives of IEEE.

3. Dr. Abraham mentioned to plan for an International Conference in 2018 with IEEE Vizag Bay Sub Section as a main organizing unit.

4. The Executive Committee nominated the following sub-committees for better implementation of IEEE activities. These are co-opted.

(a) Young professional activities: Dr. P. Satheesh

(b) Women In Engineering: Dr. N. Deepika Rani

(c) Student Activities: The Executive committee nominated a sub-committee with Dr. TSN Murthy (Lead) (mobile: 76739555559), Md Khwaja Muinuddin Chisti (mobile: 8522892691) and Dr. S.V. Jagadeesh Chandra (mobile: 9553060521) as members.

5. The Executive Committee further authorized Dr. S. Lakshminarayana, Past Chair to sign and communicate on behalf of IEEE Vizag Bay Sub Section in future.

The meeting ended with vote of thanks to the chair.
