IEEE Jayamukhi Student Branch Affinity Group (SBAG) strived to launch an outreach program to rope in the Pre-University students of various colleges in the vicinity of Jayamukhi. The program is styled as SPOORTHY (Inspiring Women) extending the activities to the interested students. It is a STAR program it redefined the objectives of SPOORTHY to promote research in Engineering and Science for the benefit of the students. It keeps away the teachers of technology from the purview of SPOORTHY. Thus it purely meant for the engineering students interested in rendering voluntary service. Over the past years, the enrollment in WIE SBAG increased significantly. The SPOORTHY aims at convincing the girls about the endless possibilities available.

The most anticipated event SPOORTHY ’16 has been successfully conducted on 30^th of December at Jayamukhi Institute of Technological Sciences, Auditorium in collaboration with IEEE WIE Jayamukhi SB

Miss. G. Neelima enlightened the brains of girl students in the college about the necessity of educated women for better tomorrow. And gave awareness about the legal rights those women has in the society. She has given a brief explanation about the difficulties that a women is facing today and gave awareness about how to overcome such problems. She also gave an assurance that if any girl is facing any problem, they will provide food and shelter and also education.

Dr. Sunitha said that the infant mortality rate stands at 57 of every 1000 children before they reach the age of one year and teenage students also facing anaemic due to Unhealthy food. She gave her valuable information regarding hygienic health tips to the attendees of the event and motivated the girls with real life examples in her experience about a girl child, who was killing in the mother womb itself and asked not to be done in our society by speaking about the importance of a girl child today.

Conclusion: Successfully completed the event and received huge knowledge from the eminent speakers, hope all the students who participated have gained the knowledge regarding rights of girl, health tips and enjoyed the event
