Our May 9 IEEE Susquehanna Chapter event is a tour of the Hershey Chocolate World Solar PV installation.
We will meet at 6:00 PM in the visitor parking lot near the 4 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations.
Installed in March, and officially opened in early June 2011, the 24,000 square foot installation of 1,092 solar panels are capable of generating 248 kW - almost covering a quarter of the power needs of the facility.
We will have an opportunity to see the massive solar inverter and power distribution panels inside the Chocolate World building.
