[Legacy Report] Remote Sensing Seminars
Title: Low-level Computer Vision with Temporal Consistency and Deep Learning
Speaker: Dr Yuchao Dai (ANU)
Abstract: In this talk, I will present some of our recent work in low-level computer vision/image processing, which covers image deblurring, depth map super-resolution, depth map completion and salient object detection. The focus will be on how to investigate the temporal motion information in improving low-level vision tasks and how the deep neural network can improve the performance.
Biography: Yuchao Dai is currently an ARC DECRA Fellow with the Research School of Engineering at the Australian National University, Canberra, Australia. He received the B.E. degree, M.E degree and Ph.D. degree all in signal and information processing from Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xian, China, in 2005, 2008 and 2012, respectively. He was a visiting student at ANU from Oct. 2008 to Oct. 2009 with the support of the China Scholarship Council. His research interests include structure from motion, multiview geometry, deep learning, compressive sensing and optimization. He won the best paper award in CVPR 2012 and DSTO Best Fundamental Contribution to Image Processing Paper Prize at DICTA 2014.
Title: Remote Sensing Image Processing in Time Domain
Speaker: Dr Xiuping Jia (UNSW Canberra)
Abstract: In this talk, I will present the research conducted by my group on multitemporal image processing. I will give an overview of the issues encountered, including image registration, cloud removal, and data fusion. The focus of my talk will be on the opportunities provided by the time-series images for compression, super resolution reconstruction and sequential classifier training.
Biography: Xiuping Jia received the Ph.D. Degree in EE from UNSW, Australia, in 1996, where she is currently a Senior Lecturer. Her research interests include remote sensing, image processing and spatial data analysis. Dr. Jia has authored or coauthored more than 170 referred papers. She is the co-author of the remote sensing textbook titled Remote Sensing Digital Image Analysis [Springer-Verlag, 3rd (1999) and 4th eds. (2006)]. Dr. Jia is an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing.
