[Legacy Report] Industrial visit to SHAR Sriharikota-IEEE CBIT (STB31231)

Objective: The objective of visit to Sriharikota (ISRO),Nellore is to enable the students to understand various processes done before ,during and after the launching of satellites , types of launching pads and give an overview working of the satellite launchers.
Event details:
Nearly 95 students and 4 staff members from Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology visited the Sriharikota (ISRO) on 28 March 2017.
Two buses with staff and students reached ISRO at 11:30am on 28 March 2017.
The students were taken to four places in sriharikota (ISRO). The first place was Mission Control Centre (MCC) where the students were shown big screens which are used to view the launching of the satellite and a series of rows containing computers from which various aspects of the rocket are monitored during the time of launch. Students were given information regarding types of launchers, tests done before launching , cancellation of launch and work done by various teams in MCC. They showed videos of PSLV C37 launch and a test launch of GSLV Mk3.
Later the students were taken to ISTRAC (ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network) where they were explained the process of information transmission and reception by the satellites from various ground stations and types of orbits in which satellites revolve.
After that the students were taken to rocket launching pad-1(PSLV-Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) and rocket launching pad-2 (GSLV-Geo Satellite Launch Vehicle) where various stages of rocket launch , fuels and propellants used, lightning arresters, jet reflectors and the differences between the two launching pads were explained .They also told about their upcoming projects . Questions raised by the students were welcomed.
Students had lunch at the Sriharikota (ISRO) canteen after which students visited the Space Museum at Sriharikota (ISRO).
