Minutes of Meeting

Executive Committee Meeting was held at 107, ACES Building, Dept. of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India on November 26, 2017, from 11:30 AM to 12:40 PM.

Welcome and Announcements:

Chairman and Secretary both welcomed all the members present at the meeting.

Agenda Item #1: Ratification of minutes of the previous meeting.

Discussion: The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Dr. Verma and few amendments were suggested in the previous minutes of the meeting.

Agenda Item #2: Call for Nominations of IEEE UP Section CIS Chapter Awards for the year 2017.

Discussion: Secretary requested the present members to circulate the call for nominations of IEEE UP Section CIS Chapter awards for the year 2017.

Agenda Item #3: Discussion on Executive Office Bearer Body for next year.

Discussion: Few names for new office bearers were suggested by executive committee members present at the meeting. Suggested names were as follows:

• Chairman - Dr. A. K. Ghosh, IIT Kanpur
• Vice Chairman - Dr. Nishchal K. Verma, IIT Kanpur and Dr. R. K. Misra, IIT (BHU) Varanasi
• Secretary - Mr. Sujeet Mishra, Indian Railways
• Joint Secretary - Ms. Teena Sharma, IIT Kanpur
• Treasurer - Mr. Vikas Singh, IIT Kanpur
• Convener, CIS Membership Activities - Mr. Narendra K Dhar, IIT Kanpur
• Vice Convener, CIS Membership Activities – Mr. Abhishek, IIT (BHU) Varanasi
• Convener, CIS Professional Activities - Dr. Rahul K. Sevakula, IBM, India
• Vice Convener, CIS Professional Activities - Mr. Tarun Maini, IIT (BHU) Varanasi and Mr. Dhan Jeet Singh, IIT Kanpur
• Convener, CIS Student activities – Dr. Brijesh Varshney, KIT Kanpur
• Vice Convener, CIS Student Activities – Mr. Mayank Pandey, IIT Kanpur, Mr. Mohd. Aqib, IIT Kanpur and Ms. Sonal Dixit, IIT Kanpur

Action Item: The new Executive Committee will be effective from January 1^st, 2018.

Agenda Item #4: Any other item.

Discussion: Dr. Sevakula suggested to circulate the nominations to encourage the IEEE CIS memberships. Dr. Verma invited the present members to attend “2017 International Conference on Computational Intelligence: Theories, Applications and Future Directions (ICCI-2017)” He requested members to come forward and participate the event.
