Lebanese Student Branches, Affinity Groups and Technical Chapters have reunited for the 5th year in a row to celebrate IEEE Day 2017 as one big family.

ALong with IEEE Day Ambassadors and the IEEE Lebanon Section, IEEE Day 2017 was a success in its agenda diversity, outreach and positive vibes among the 100+ attendees.

Besides organization, 4 IEEE Young Professionals members participated in the "IEEE Success Stories" session, where they shared the experience and knowledge they gained through their volunteering experiences in IEEE and gave some insights about their journey within IEEE Lebanon Section.

Biography:

Dr. Elie Kawerk is a data science consultant, machine learning practitioner and a Python oficionado. He has several years of experience with coding and computational software development. Elie likdes to share his knowledge about data science, machine learning and Python. He hopes to convey his enthusiasm for data science to help people develop data-driven solutions without necessarily having a machine learning background.

Elie hold a PhD in computational physics from the University of Paris 6, France. He also held a research position at the University of Trieste, Italy.

Dr. Hazem El Hajj of AUB

Biography:

Dr. Hazem El Hajj is a faculty associate professor at the American University of Beirut (AUB) and a researcher in Machine Learning / Deep Learning / Big Data / Data Mining / Data Analytics.

After obtaining his BE from AUB, Hazem Pursued his MS and PhD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison then worked within Automation R&D department at Intel Corporation before moving back to Lebanon.
