Visit to Standards Calibration Laboratory (SCL) of Innovation Technology Commission
The Standards and Calibration Laboratory (SCL) of the Innovation and Technology Commission is responsible for maintaining the reference standards of physical measurements for Hong Kong. These standards are metrologically traceable to the International System of Units (SI).
The SCL provides calibration services to users of measurement standards and measuring instruments to ensure measurement accuracy and proper metrological traceability. In addition, the SCL also provides proficiency testing provider (PTP) services to laboratories in the testing and certification industry to demonstrate their technical competence.
Accredited by the Hong Kong Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (HOKLAS), the SCL implements a management system that complies with HOKLAS regulations and the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 for calibration services and ISO/IEC 17043 for PTP services.
