Biography: Dr. David N. Mohr is a Professor of Medicine at Mayo Medical School and an internist in the Division of General Internal Medicine. He is currently Chair of the Information Management and Technology Committee and previously chaired the Mayo Integrated Clinical Systems Committee which oversaw the design and implementation of the electronic medical record for Mayo Clinic Rochester.

Dr. Mohr has served as Chair of the Division of Area General Internal Medicine, Chair of the Institutional Primary Care Committee, Chair of the Managed Care Subcommittee, and President of the Southern Minnesota Medical Association. He has been on the Board of the Mayo Health Plan and was also Co-Chair of the Clinical Information Systems Subcommittee of the Medical Technology Policy Council of IEEE - US (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) from 1995-1997. Dr. Mohr has published many papers in the informatics literature and has served as a faculty member in the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) courses. He has been invited to various Institute of Medicine (IOM) workshops and was a national reviewer of the IOM and HHS paper to develop a national standard for the Electronic Health Record.

Dr. Mohr graduated Summa Cum Laude from Rice University in Electrical Engineering and Biology and received the honor of being the Outstanding Engineering Graduate. He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi. He received his M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine with honors and was elected to AOA. He completed his internship and residency at Mayo Clinic and was a clinical fellow in medicine at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Hospital before joining the staff at Mayo Clinic.
