About the Workshop

Internet of Things is the next big technology wave in the current circuits and systems world, it is imperative for engineering faculty and students to keep themselves abreast with this niche technology. Dr. Mohammed Arifuddin Sohel, Chair, IEEE CAS Hyderabad Section and proposer of this outreach program has gained expertise in this area and is offering a course on IoT which has resulted in about 15 IoT based undergraduate projects and an MOU with Repine signals under its Wyzbee University program.

This workshop aims at giving hands on experience to participating faculty and students on designing of a model of “smart city” with various applications like waste management, Classroom/ Home automation. It is targeted towards third and final year engineering students and IEEE branch counselors of colleges in the jurisdiction of IEEE Hyderabad Section.

It is observed that the students normally lack the skills to do a mini project or major project on their own and normally seek the help of institutes who give a readymade project to the students which is a huge impediment in the learning process. This two day workshop aims to develop enough confidence and technical skills amongst the students that they should be able to do IoT related projects on their own without any external support.

Registration rules:

Four members per team (Three students and one faculty member or all four students). One Takeaway IoT kit per team and One mentor/Teaching Assistant will be provided per team to facilitate proper understanding of practical sessions.

Note: Maximum of two teams per college can register
