After more than four years of passionate effort by Alan Shelton, and the team he has formed, they now have a decent facility at 1375 N. Patterson (MLK drive) next to the Automotive Museum. The facility is being set up with areas for 3-D printing, Laser scribing, electronics lab, a computing area, woodworking, welding, metal machining, etc. Mixxer members are encouraged to use and have access to any of the areas on a 24/7/365 basis for projects of their choosening. "Hands-on" instruction or assistance for the various equipment and technologies will be offered.

Presenter: Alan Shelton
Biography:
Alan Shelton is the founder and executive director of Winston-Salem MIXXER, a nonprofit inclusive makerspace. Alan uses a lifetime of experience as an artist, designer, builder, and exploration of the intersection of these disciplines as a guide for tapping the creative potential of the MIXXER community. Alan holds a degree in Architecture Technology from Forsyth Tech, where he is an adjunct instructor in that program, and is a student at Salem College in the Architectural Design program. When not building, Alan enjoys immersive travel abroad, motorsports, and getting lost in the mountains.
