MITACS Session
The team of IEEE PEC organized a career guidance session on availing MITCAS scholarship.
Mitacs is a national, non‐profit organization that has designed and delivered research and
training programs in Canada for 15 years. Working with 60 universities, thousands of
companies, and both federal and provincial governments. Mitacs has expanded in response to
industrial and university needs, including programs in R&D management, professional skills
development, and international research training.
The session was taken by Mr. Gurjant Singh, who got MITCAS scholarship for research
internship in summer of 2016.
He shared his experiences with everyone, the whole journey, including the travel, the learning,
the research, the fun and everything else. He also guided the students on how they can apply
for Mitacs for the next session and learn and grow in their respective fields.
