RAS Tunisia Presentation Why Join RAS
Biography:
Ikram Twir (GS’2014) was born in Benguerdene, Tunisia, in 1993. She received the Applied License degree in Industrial Computing from the University of ISSAT Sousse, Tunisia, 2015, and the Research Master degrees in Pervasive Intelligent Systems from Higher Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology of Sousse (SPI) Sousse, Tunisia, 2017. Her current research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Computational Intelligence, Evolutionary Algorithms, Bio-inspired Algorithms, Internet of Things, and Robotics. Ikram Touir is a student from Tunisia in the field of artificial intelligence. She has been an active IEEE member and volunteer since 2014 when she established the IEEE Student Branch at Higher Institute of Applied Science and Technology of Sousse -Tunisia. She has served in many IEEE volunteer positions including IEEE Day Ambassador, IEEEXtreme Ambassador and in the PES Renewable Energy in Schools (RES) Project. She was the Local Arrangement Chair for the 5th International Competition in Robotics, RoboComp2015 - Tunisia. Her Student Branch was awarded both the Section Outstanding Student Branch Award and the Section Outstanding WIE Affinity group for 2016. Ikram represented her school at the 2016 IEEE Region 8 Student and Young Professional Congress held in Regensburg, Germany. She served as Region 8 RAS SAC member from 2014-2016. Currently, Ikram serves as Treasurer of IEEE RAS Tunisia Chapter which was awarded both the IEEE Region 8 Best Chapter of the Year award and the IEEE RAS Chapter of the Year Award for 2017. Ikram is the IEEE RAS Regional (R8) Student Representative. Recently, She is appointed to serve as IEEE Nominations and Appointments (N&A) Committee Member for 2018.

Mehdi Mili
Open Hardware Workshop Getting started with Arduino
Biography:
Mehdi Mili was born in Sousse, 1994, is a second-year student in the Higher Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology of Sousse (ISSAT Sousse) for the bachelor degree in industrial computing. Since 2015, he has been an active member in IEEE ISSATSO students branch, where he held many positions: In 2016, he was a treasurer of the students' branch and a vice-chair in both IEEE RAS SB Chapter and IAS SB Chapter. He was elected chair of the students' branch in 2017 and is currently chair of RAS SB Chapter and the communication manager in IAS Tunisia chapter. He is a local leader in Nasa Space Apps Challenge, the international hackathon hosted by NASA. For the past years, he trained in many Arduino, raspberry and scratch workshops, and he also is part of a startup named “Original Graphics” (OG) launched in 2017 as a designer and a finance officer.
