Technical Talk-MICROGRIDS AND RENEWABLES
IEEE PES Bangalore Chapter
The IEEE PES DSCE members under the co-ordination and
arrangements made by the staff of EEE dept. , had organised a
technical talk on the topic Microgrids and Renewable Energy
Sources. The speaker for the day was Dr. S.S Murthy who is a retired
professor from the prestigious IIT-Delhi. It was a privilege having
professor at our campus who further enlightened us on the subject
and gave us a clear view of where we stand in the progress and also
the future prospects that hold potential in these very fields. It was
through professor Murthy’s experience that he led us into the
drawbacks of using conventional fuels and also inspired us to
preserve the planet by the “GO GREEN” slogan. Further more , we
also understood the energy demand in our country and various
techniques that can be implemented to achieve clean energy form
and direct it towards the service mains. It was overall a great
exposure for the young generation engineers to realise what exactly
is the fineline between ‘demand and delivery’ of energy. Thanks to
our co-ordinators and staff involved in setting up the talk as it was
hugely beneficial for the students as a whole.
