Avishkar 2K18 (Intra round)
INTRODUCTION:
Avishkar is a technical paper presentation competition conducted every year under IEEE - VBIT SB, exclusively for first year students. Avishkar proved to be an impeccable rostrum for the students to launch their skills which is profitable for their professional future. Entering to its decennium, a Blog Post competition was also included, wherein students could write a blog on technical topics. Demonstrating its motive, Avishkar, the flagship event under IEEE - VBIT SB, has been successful in improving superior thought process, comprehending professional etiquette and exposing the undergraduates towards technical world. The tenth year of the Flagship event of IEEE - VBIT SB, Avishkar, was
conducted in a grand way on 25th and 26th January, 2018. The competition had overwhelming response from the young minds of VBIT. The first year students presented their power point presentations as an individual or as a team of two. The blog posts were presented by the participants individually. The best presentations were selected and the finalists were awarded. The event received unflinching support from the college management, faculty and students, making it a huge success.
OVERVIEW:
• Information regarding the event was officially given to the first-year students of VBIT, on 10th January, 2018 through class announcements.
• Interested students had registered themselves through the link provided to them in the poster. Students selected their topics based on the categories provided in the link.
• The queries of the participants regarding the event were clarified by the Organizing Committee.
• The last date of registrations, submission of abstracts, submission of powerpoint presentations and blogs were notified as 15th, 18th and 21st January, 2018, respectively.
• Offline registrations were also held to help the students.
• The participants were also guided regarding the abstracts, power point presentations and blogs.
• The event had commenced with addressing the participants by our Principal, Dr. G. Amarendar Rao, after which the participants were guided to their respective halls to present their PPTs and Blogs.
• Students were given a time limit of 6 minutes and the remaining two minutes were allotted for the judges to come up with their queries.
• Participants were given a warning bell on 4th minute and the final bell on 6th minute.
• Evaluation of student’s performance was based on their presentation and their ability to answer the queries.
• The fifteen best presentations of PPT and five best Blog presentations were selected to present on 26th January.
• On the second day of event three best PPTs and two best Blog presentations were selected by Judges and the winners are reward with mementos and certificates.
REVIEW:
Owing to its motive, Avishkar has proved to be a substantial rostrum for the students to revamp their communication skills, abolish stage fear, comprehend professional etiquette, discover their inner talents which are helpful to enhance and cultivate self - confidence and also made students to understand the worth of engineering education.
Avishkar, the flagship event, under IEEE - VBIT SB has brought tremendous transform in the young mind.
