Invited Talk on “Emerging semiconductor devices and its applications"
Department of Instrumentation, Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women, in collaboration with IEEE EDS Delhi chapter organized a talk on Emerging Semiconductor Devices and its applications by Dr. D. Nirmal, IEEE ED Coimbatore Chapter Chair and Associate Professor in Department of Electrical Sciences, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore, on Wednesday, April 4, 2018. Around 85 participants including students, Research Scholars and Faculty Members attended the talk. The talk was based about the types of Semiconductor Devices – High Power Devices, Low Power Devices and Optical Devices. Dr. Nirmal explained material technology used in the production of Semiconductor Materials, concept of Scaling of Semiconductor Devices, Dual Gate MOSFET, Fin-FET, Gate-All-Around MOSFET and Junction less Transistor.

Emerging semiconductor devices and its applications
Biography:
Dr. D. Nirmal is an Associate Professor in the School of Electrical sciences at the Karunya University. He received his PhD degree in Information and Communication Engineering from Anna University, India. His research interest includes Nanoelectronics, VLSI Design, Optoelectronics and Device fabrication. Dr. Nirmal is the author of many Refereed international journals (Elsevier, Taylor and Francis, Wiley, Hindawi and DRDO) and conferences for his highest level of achievement. He is a Chair of IEEE ED Coimbatore Chapter. He has been awarded as Shir. P. K. D as Memorial Best Faculty Award in the Year 2013. He has received best High impact factor journal publication Award from Karunya University in 2012. Dr. Nirmal is Editor of Microelectronics Journal Elsevier publisher form 2014. Dr. Nirmal also a reviewer and the editorial board member of many International refereed Journals. He has delivered many lecture in National and International Level. He is a Senior member of IEEE, Life Member of IETE, Member of SSI, Member of ISTE and VSI Societies. He was invited to chair several international conference/workshop programs and sessions.
