"Encomium"-the Annual Techno-Cultural fest of IEEE, Jamia Millia Islamia
Encomium finally returned with a bang after a gap year, ready to set the university ablaze
The annual techno-cultural fest of IEEE JMI was held on the 23rd to 25th of March, 2018.
Encomium is a perfect blend of technical, cultural and sports events. Members and volunteers work hard for months to pull together this extravaganza every year.
The three day long gala sees enthusiastic youngsters from across the Delhi-NCR region.
Day 1 kicked off with the Opening Ceremony, with Dr. Arun Kumar Tripathi, Director General, National Institute of Solar Energy, Govt. of India, as chief guest, Mr. Suhail Akhtar, Advisor to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Govt. of India, as the guest of honor and presided by Mr A.P. Siddiqui - IPS, Registrar Jamia Millia Islamia.
The Opening Ceremony also featured the release of IEEE JMI’s magazine Encore, which was released after a hiatus of 2 years, by the dignitaries present on the occasion.
Encomium 2k18 officially started with 2 back to back events, Slam Poetry and a General Quiz.
The second day of Encomium 2k18 created mass hysteria with various exciting events going on simultaneously in different parts of the college premises. The showstopper of the day was Tech Talks, an entrepreneurship event, with industry leaders coming to Jamia to share their wisdom with our students. The day also starred our massively popular Group Dance, Fashion Show and Nukkad Natak events.
Encomium’s last day created excitement with two very popular events: the Hackathon finals and Solo Singing.
Encomium 2k18 was officially wrapped with a Closing Ceremony presided over by our Branch Counsellor Dr. Ahteshamul Haque, along with our chief guest for the event Mr. Aftab Ahmad, Dy. Director General of IBES
