Denial of Service (DoS) in Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET) an issue or a fatality
El Capítulo de Comunicaciones (ComSoc) se complace en invitarles a este evento, el cual es auspiciado parcialmente por La Serie de Conferencistas Distinguidos de la Sociedad de Comunicaciones. El mismo está diseñado para profesionales, estudiantes y público en general que deseen aprender sobre los retos de implementar redes inalámbricas y móviles en aplicaciones como las redes vehiculares e internet de las cosas.
Resumen de la presentación:
Las redes inalámbricas y móviles tienen muchas ventajas como la facilidad de implementación, la movilidad del usuario y proporciona acceso a la red a los usuarios, independientemente de sus ubicaciones. Los problemas más críticos que surgen en estas redes están en las asignaciones de recursos ya que el ancho de banda es limitado, la propagación (multi-ruta, desvanecimiento, distorsión) y seguridad ya que las comunicaciones se transmiten a través de ondas de radio. En paralelo, nuevas arquitecturas / tecnologías han surgido como Redes vehiculares e Internet de las cosas. En esta conferencia, presentaré temas sobre el problema de la disponibilidad en esas redes y arquitectura, me centraré en las redes vehiculares, y presentaré algunos trabajos que hemos realizado para mejorar la seguridad en esos sistemas.

Dr. Jalel Ben Othman
Biography:
Prof. Ben-Othman received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees both in Computer Science from the University of Pierre et Marie Curie, (Paris 6) France in 1992, and 1994 respectively. He received his PhD degree from the University of Versailles, France, in 1998. He was an Assistant Professor at the University of Orsay (Paris 11) and University of Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris 6), in 1998 and 1999 respectively. He was an Associate Professor at the University of Versailles from 2000 to 2011. He is currently full professor at the University of Paris 13 since 2011.
Dr. Ben-Othman's research interests are in the area of wireless ad hoc and sensor networks, VANETs, IoT, performance evaluation and security in wireless networks in general. He was the recipient of several best papers award (IWCMC'16, EUSPN'14, ICC'11 AHSM, ICCIT'11), the recipient of the IEEE comsoc Communication Software technical committee Recognition Award in 2016, the IEEE computer society Meritorious Service Award in 2016, and he is a Golden Core Member of IEEE Computer Society.
He is currently in steering committee of IEEE Transaction on Mobile computing (IEEE TMC), an editorial board member of IEEE communications letters (IEEE COMML), IEEE comsoc Journal of Communications and Networks (JCN) and International Journal On Advances in Networks and Services IJANS. He is also an Associate Editor of Wiley International Journal of Communication Systems (wiley IJCS). He has served as general chair of the international conference on wireless networks and mobile communications (WINCOM'15), program chair of IEEE New technologies mobility and security (NTMS'15).
He has also served as TPC Co-Chair for IEEE Globecom and ICC conferences for Ad hoc and Sensor Networking, wireless network and wireless communication symposiums (ICC'17, GC'16, ICC'16, GC'14, ICC'14, ICC'12, GC'11, GC'10 ), since 2011 for International Wireless Communication.
