IEEE AustinComSoc & SP and EMBS & Computer Combined chapters would like to invite to you a special session on

“HPC, Machine Learning, and other Engineering Problems to Consider”

Presenter:

Dr. Damian Valles, Electrical Engineering, Ingram School of Engineering

Texas State University, San Marcos

Pease MUST RSVP

Abstract:

High-Performance Computing (HPC) has been a great innovation and research tool that has enhanced science and engineering over 40 years. As technology has advanced to where computational devices are embedded everywhere and carried by most people, the increase of data availability has become an infrastructure and analysis problem. This talk will focus on the impact of trends from different computational approaches such as Machine Learning, the emergence of new engineering designs, and goals that are required to reach new discoveries from the classroom to the workforce.

Bio:

Dr. Damian Valles is from the City of Juarez, Mexico. He received his B.S., M.S, and PhD. from the University of Texas at El Paso in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Dr. Valles did his post-doc at Montana Tech with the Computer Science Department after graduation for 2 years. Then joined the Information Systems Department as an HPC System Administrator and Adjunct Faculty for the Computer Science Department at Wake Forest University.  He is currently on his first-year as an Assistant Professor at the Ingram School of Engineer at Texas State University.  Dr. Valles research work focuses on HPC, Machine/Deep Learning, and in Digital and Embedded Design solutions.
