WIE-AG STAR PROGRAM
IEEE CS SBC VCE in collaboration with IEEE WIE-AG conducted a humanitarian program as IEEE WIE-AG STAR PROGRAM, a visit to VANDEMATARAM FOUNDATION, a non profit organization that strives for educating underprivileged students with quality education.
After travelling for about 3 hours, from Warangal we reached Thorrur. The journey felt very enticing as we behold true glimpses of nature. With the same excitement we reached Vandemataram Foundation. As soon as we entered, vibes of patriotism touched our soul seeing the huge national flag and few portraits of eminent personalities from freedom struggle. A huge gathering of students were waiting to interact with us.The environment there filled everyone of us with lots of enthusiasm, seeing such blooming buds with zeal to learn and achieve was overwhelming. Mr.Ravindra - Founder of Vandemataram Foundation addressed gathering and shared some glimpses from his profound journey and later some of Vaagdevi College Of Engineering students also interacted with them.He felicitated Mr.Aravindhan Anbhazagan,Miss Megha and Mr.Sharif Mohammad with a huge portrait of Dr.Abdul Kalam as a symbol of gratitude for being there. He encouraged other volunteers by presenting some inspirational books.
He spoke about the importance of educating everyone irrespective of the caste and creed and also about the inspiration which made him to start this foundation. Later he requested Mr.Aravindhan and Miss Megha to inspire the students with their experiences.
Mr.Aravindhan took pleasure in introducing his journey from a village to a metropolitan city like Chennai.He inspired the students and encouraged them to grab every opportunity come in their way.He gave few suggestions and tips to the students in setting up a goal for themselves and how to work towards achieving it.He welcomed all kinds of queries from the young aspirants by answering them with a perfect example. Soon after the talk of Mr.Aravindhan,Miss Megha interacted with the students telling them about the various opportunities one can experience in his B.Tech life. She also spoke about various opportunities you can avail through IEEE. She inspired the students sharing her experiences of being a graphic designer insisting the importance of doing something that gives us pleasure and satisfaction.She urged the students to identify the talent within them so that they can enhance it from a tender age providing a scope for a great upcoming future.
Later,the Sentience team were allocated a group of 15 students for two volunteers each to guide the students regarding the opportunities they have after 10th grade.Mr.Aravindhan and Miss. Megha were accompanied by a volunteer each to bridge the gap of communication between the students and the speaker.Every student was so excited to interact and they spoke about their future goals and took advices in achieving it.
Delicious lunch was provided to everyone by the foundation.Everyone had a great networking while having lunch and we explored more about the functioning of Vandemataram Foundation.
After the lunch,it was time to bid goodbye's to our guests Mr.Aravindhan and Miss Megha Ben.They left to the airport accompanied by one of the volunteers whereas the interaction with few more students continued till the evening.Even though we had a great interactive session as we were running out of time it compelled us to end the program.Several selfies were clicked Mr.Ravindra spoke about the importance of present youth indulging in such activities by knowing the social problems around us.
The WIE STAR PROGRAM ended with clicking a group picture and a bag full of life lessons.
