Come join your friends and colleagues to celebrate the end of another great year.  We have a guest speaker, Dr. Ed Maynard.  He will share some of the experiences he's had working with STEM activities for children including the FIRST Lego League.  Space is limited so don't wait to sign up.

For the menu we have a spinach salad with grilled New York strip loin and dark chocolate mint mousse cake for desert. There is a vegetarian option as well.  The childrens' option is chicken tenders with mac 'n' cheese and a fruit cup.

Topic:

STEM Engagement

While many companies have philanthropic programs that address a variety of needs in their communities, how many companies have specifically targeted STEM opportunities to support? T.D. Williamson, a global pipeline services company, made the conscious decision to add STEM projects to its Community Resources (the corporate philanthropy) portfolio 6 years ago. TDW supports both FIRST LEGO League (FLL) and Tech Challenge teams, sponsors the STEM Expo and the STEM Fest, and provides judges and awards for the (former) Salt Lake Valley Science Fair. I’ll use this decidedly non-technical talk to show how TDW has leveraged a modest investment into the opportunity to touch many students in the valley.
