Kids' Hacker Camp: The Children of The CornCon
The Kids' Hacker Camp is being run for its 4th year in the Quad Cities alongside the QC Cybersecurity Conference, CornCon.
Kids will learn about making and breaking and the ethical uses of technology. They will have many fun activities, such as puzle solving, cryptography, privacy, minecraft coding, election hacking, VR, 3D printing, electronics kits and teardown station, and lock picking. There will be contests and door prizes. Each child will receive a badge and t-shirt, snacks, drinks and lunch (pizza). There will be a hacker village with demos such as 3D printing and activities like airbrush tatoos, learning pen testing from the US Army, drone wars, car hacking and more!!
Registration opens at 8am and the event starts at 9am and completes by 5pm. A guardian must accompany children at all times. Ages are for 7-17, and parents should use their judgement if the activities are appropriate for their child. Children over 17 are not permitted, as they are considered adults and should attend the adult conference. Only volunteers, parents and registered children are permitted in the Kids room.
This conference is being run in conjunction with the QC Cybersecurity Conference, CornCon. This year's theme is "CornCon IV: Harry Hacker and the Coblet of Cyber".
This event is co-sponsored by IEEE, St. Ambrose University and the QC Cybersecurity Alliance.
