This course is designed and is intended for the Professional Development of Engineers/Young Engineering Professionals  (YP) working in Industries and in Engineering Colleges and also for those working in Research & Development activities in the Power & Energy Sector/ Power Systems/ Renewable Energy Sources based power generation.

 A) Brief Details about this Program:

This is a Professional Development Program (PDP)-Workshop with the objectives of Knowledge Transfer from Engineering Professional like Practicing Engineers from Industry and Researchers/ Faculty from Academia. The main objectives of this workshop is to educate and acquaint the participants about the state-of-the art in Industry and also to Update them on the Recent Developments & Future Trends in Technology. 

Today, in the Power & Energy Sector large amount of Data is generated by various sources like … C&I in Power Plants/ Transmission & Distribution Networks/  Smart Meters/ Energy Markets/ Govt. Agencies and many more sources. As awareness of the availability of big data has increased, many industries/ organizations have started to use modern IT based Analytical Techniques to exploit the value from all these data collected. Engineers can apply advanced techniques like Big Data Analytics (BDA) to generate Actionable insights for Planning/ Operation/ Maintenance/ Reliability/ Economic Analysis of various Power Plants/ Equipment/ Networks/ Energy Management. A new group of Professionals are emerging called “Energy Data Scientists”.  

Engineers working in Power & Energy Sector benefit considerably by predicting the future trends based on Big Data Analytics (BDA) using the large data collected on various parameters of Power Plants/ RES based Power Plants/ Power Systems. This BDA enables to take effective decisions by analysing the performance in the areas of Power Generation/ Transmission/ Distribution/ Load Management/ Asset Management ... and many more areas.

Hence, the Big Data based Solutions have found many applications in the  Performance Prediction of various equipment/ networks in Power & Energy Sector and Power Systems in India and abroad.

This PDP focuses on some of the above aspects/ topics and enables the participants to keep in touch with the latest trends in Power & Energy Sector.

Biography of Speaker-Sri Sitaram Tadepalli:

Mr. Sitaram Tadepalli works as Big Data Architect with Tata Consultancy Services and has over 13 years of experience in solution designing, customer relationship and competency development.

He is researching the implications of emerging technologies such as Big Data and Analytics, Block chain, and artificial intelligence on business models. He is working in corporate research and development division exploring initiatives on employee experiences, platform models, conversational systems, crowdsourcing, and innovation ecosystems.

Prior to that he was instrumental in setting up Digital steam for Big Data and Analytics which trains associates in next generation digital technologies.

Sitaram started his career as an Assembler programmer with zOS Mainframe systems and gradually expanded his horizon into various niche technology areas. He has worked in various industry verticals such as Banking, Insurance, Travel, Transportation and Hospitality.

Sitaram is a member of IEEE and Life member of Cloud Computing Innovation council of India. He is acting as Secretary and Treasurer for Technology, Engineering and Management Society, IEEE Hyderabad Section.

He has published a couple of research papers in National and International conferences in the area of Big Data Analytics and Internet of Things. Sitaram holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from JNTU, Hyderabad and Master’s degree in Data Analytics from BITS, Pilani, India.
