Technical Visit to Cytron Technologies Sdn Bhd
On 27th February 2018, the IEEE Malaysia Section Sensors and Nanotechnology Joint Councils Chapter co-organized a technical visit to Cytron Technologies Sdn Bhd in Bukit Mertajam, Penang. The technical visit was attended by 16 participants. The session started at 9.30am with short introduction to Cytron by Mr. Ober Choo, Chief Technical Officer (CTO) from Cytron Technologies Sdn Bhd. Mr. Ober firstly shared the history of Cytron establishment where the company started by five Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) students, including himself in 2004. Mr. Ober also shared to the participants about the challenges to run an online electronics business, especially a decade ago and despite the obstacles, the team was determined to chase after their dreams and today able to move to new facilities that was just established recently in Bukit Mertajam, Penang. The participants were then split to 2 groups where each group will be rotated for the plant tour, R&D lab and technical sharing about Rero, the first ASEAN educational robotics kit for students.
