Leadership skills in surviving and thriving in modern times
Narayana GPL. Mandaleeka (“MGPL”) is a Vice President and Chief Scientist, who led various software development projects/programs in TCS (India, USA, UK, Europe) and managed first ever large scale off-shore delivery center working with a telecom multinational company from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Bangalore. He led business development for TCS in Silicon Valley, California during Dot-Com era (boom time!). As the R&D Manager in North America in early 2000s, he initiated and managed several research alliances with leading universities in North America for TCS and initiated first ever Industry-Academia collaboration by setting up a research centre in the USA. He is also instrumental in setting up several technology industry alliances that originated from CMU for TCS.
Mr. Mandaleeka holds Master’s in engineering in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). He holds several patents and publications in the areas of Contextual Search, Software Engineering (Quality), Information Security, Consulting and Competency and has been active on several international conference programs/organizing committees. As a Chief Scientist he leads Systems Engineering & Cybernetics initiative in TCS at Hyderabad. He holds memberships with several international professional organizations such as ACM, GloGift, INCOSE, ASC and he is a Senior Member of IEEE. He is a fellow of IETE. He has been volunteering several professional activities, recent ones being Vice Chair for Professional Activities of Region-10 of IEEE (Asia-Pacific) and had been the Principal Lead for IEEE India Strategy Committee, 2015-16. Currently he is a member on IEEE Computer Society’s Professional & Educational Activities Board (PEAB) and is also a steering committee member on Excellence Enable Forum (EEF) of PMI, India. He is leading the “Digital Transformation” initiative under PM-SE integration Working Group of INCOSE. He has been invited to join as an official member of “IEEE Global AI Ethics Initiative”. He won IEEE Outstanding Volunteer Award in 2012 for R10 (Asia-Pacific).
