Western Australia Section: Industrial Relations

As part of the service to its members, the IEEE WA Section in collaboration with Magellan Power organised a visit to the site of Magellan Power in Bibra Lake. The visit has been timed from 4.30pm to 6.30pm in order to suit busy agendas.

Magellan Power is one of the only remaining designers and manufacturers of back-up power equipment in Australia. Since 1991 Magellan's equipment has supplied many of Australia's biggest projects in mining, health, infrastructure and defence industries to name a few.

Visitors were given a tour of the Bibra Lake factory and shown the latest innovations which include Stand Alone Power Systems made for remote areas, container-based Energy Storage Systems, and the cutting-edge Cloud Camera which is used as a solar smoothing device. After the presentation the attendees had been given a tour of the manufacturing floor of Magellan's best-selling products such as the MCRII DC Systems, and Industrial UPS.
