Report on technical talk on “Design and Implementation of Massive MIMO”
To explore the new research opportunities of 5G technology, a technical talk on “Design and Implementation of Massive MIMO” delivered by Dr Shrivishal Tripathi, Assistant Professor, IIIT, Naya Raipur, is organized by IEEE MTT-S SBC IIT BHU society. This technical talk was held at committee room of the Department of Electronics Engineering, IIT BHU, Varanasi on 15.30 Hours, 24, May 2018. Dr Somak Bhattacharyya, MTT-S SBC advisor, introduced Dr Tripathi to the audience. Dr Shrivishal Tripathi has started from the radiation science at the physical layer of communication and the motivation behind the upgradation of 5G technology from current 4G technology. Dr Tripathi discussed the challenges and scalability issue of Massive MIMO implementation. The design aspects of an antenna, sensors-actuator and electronic chips for 5G Technology as well as the involvement of various industries, research labs and academic institutions are also discussed by Dr Tripathi. Some research problems in 5G technology related to Massive MIMO and antenna design are discussed/answered by Dr Tripathi. The talk ended around 16:30 hours followed by the formal vote of thanks.
