Poster Presentation on Disaster Management

Introduction:
Disaster management is an important subject for each and every field. An engineer must have the knowledge of the various technological advancement and systems, and its applications in various hazardous events.
Thus for the same, the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in collaboration with IEEE GCET SB, organized a poster presentation competition for the students of 3rd year ME department on 18th & 19th September , 2018.
The Electronics & Communication Engineering Department of G H Patel College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), a Charutar Vidya Mandal institute, Vallabh Vidyanagar, in collaboration with IEEE GCET SB, has organized Poster presentation on “Disaster Management”, which was coordinated by Prof. Chetna Shah on 18th & 19th September , 2018.
The topic of poster presentation is historical improvement in disastrous prone area with the use of technology and early warning systems. The Main object of this event is to explore various techniques and technological development in the field of disaster management system. Students can learn team work and discipline and how to bring ideas on a piece of a paper and coordinate them with the use of language. Students can also get some ideas about past and recent Disasters which will be useful to them for their poster topic selection.
The event was organized for the Third year students of Mechanical engineering Department. It was a group activity; there were total 75 students present, three participants in each group. There were around twenty five (25) posters in this event. The judge for the event was Prof. Anand Darji & Prof. Jalpa Patel from Civil department of GCET, V.V. Nagar.
The competition commenced at 1:00 pm. Prof. Anand Darji Sir along with Prof. Jalpa Patel went to each poster presenter and interacted with them about their topic of poster. There were total 25 posters on the different topics of disaster management. The faculty of Electronics and Communication Department, Prof. Pradeep shah, Prof. Deven Trivedi and prof. Neha upadhyaya had visited and given valuable suggestions to the participants.
