2019 Tampa Bay Engineers Week Banquet - Sponsorship
This premier event brings together local leaders and engineering professionals to recognize the outstanding achievements of Engineers, Science Teachers, Math Teachers, and Students in our community. Additionally, awards will be presented to outstanding engineers in each discipline, as well as local engineering students excelling in their engineering related studies and Young Professionals. The banquet also features the Lignell Awards. These awards, named after a former Chairman for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), are given to local High School educators who are performing outstanding work in the instruction of the STEM topics (science, technology, engineering and math). The organizers of the event recognize the important role these individuals play in encouraging students to pursue technological degrees in college. The banquet is a combination of efforts by all the Engineering Societies of West Central Florida. This event brings together professionals in all fields from all around Tampa and Florida’s west coast.

RESTORATION FOLLOWING HURRICANES – WHAT IS INVOLVED?
You all heard about the impacts of Hurricane Florence and Michael, now get the inside story of what it took to restore the power to the Customers around the areas the storm impacted.
The logistics involved are tremendous and involved a large number of people in addition to the line crews needed to do the line work. Duke will share with us the details of what was involved for these storms, or for any storm on a magnitude similar to these. Logistics such as: Lodging, feeding, clothes (cleaning and replacements), fuel and fueling vehicles, and Damage Assessment activities to establish Time to Restore estimates and direct workers to damaged areas are just some of the key areas needed to keep this restoration on track. Duke will share with us many of the details involved in making this happen.
Biography:
Jason Cutliffe has over 30 years’ experience in the utility business, primarily in distribution grid engineering and operations. He currently serves as Director - Power Quality & Reliability with Duke Energy Florida based in St Petersburg. Jason holds a BSEE from the University of Maine, an MBA from the University of Richmond, and is a licensed Professional Engineer.
