Fourth Executive Committee Meeting of IEEE Ananthapuramu Subsection (ATPSS) Under IEEE Hyderabad Section

Prof. V. Sankar, Chair IEEE ATPSS has welcomed all the Executive members of IEEE Ananthapuramu Subsection as well as Student Branch counselors of different Engineering colleges.

He introduced Dr. P.V. Rajgopal, Chair IEEE PES/PELS/IAS joint chapter who is invited to subsection for discussion on the Activities.

He introduced the Exe-com members of Ananthapuramu subsection.

After the introduction of Executive Committee Members, the Chairman of Subsection started the discussion about the Activities to be conducted under the IEEE ATPSS and Technical Society Chapters.

 

The Chair of IEEE ATPSS along with the Chair of IEEE PES/PELS/IAS joint chapter jointly insisted about the importance of making more number of activities under the subsection as well as the need of preparation of a calendar in regards to the activities like Workshops, lectures, Visits in some specific areas.

 

Dr. P. V. Rajgopal insisted that the proposals must reach to the chapter at least four weeks ahead for approvals.

 

The Joint Executive Committee made a number of discussions and drafted some tentative plan of events that could be done in association with the IEEE PES/PELS/IAS chapter.

 

The Joint Executive Meet decided to conduct several workshops and training for the faculty members in the Sub Section in the coming months.

 

The Chair of the IEEE Anantapur Subsection Welcomed the SVR Engineering College, Nandyal Student branch[STB10168] members for the meeting and greeted them for the inaugural of the student branch also share his experience in delivering a lecture on Awareness on Digital Resources on 22 – 9 – 2018 .

 

The Chair IEEE ATPSS shared about the elevation of Professional Members to Senior Members.

The IEEE Ananthapuramu Sub Section is happy to share that Dr. P. Chenna Reddy Garu has been appointed as Technology Entrepreneurship Chair at IEEE ATPSS under IEEE Hyderabad.

 

The Efforts of the IEEE APTSS has been recognized very well and the IEEE Hyderabad section has nominated the volunteers from the ATPSS for the International Conference which is going to be conducted at the Vizag Bay Sub Section, during May 2019.

 

Both the chairs insisted about the renewal of IEEE memberships.

 

Dr. P. V. Rajgopal said that his target is to see that he completes 24 events with the support of the Subsection. He shared that he is going to organize a PES Student Congress and is scheduled on 3^rd and 4^th October 2018 and explained about the agenda of the Program. He explained about the sessions of the Two Day Congress and how it will be beneficial to the students. He said that he is planning to organize events and workshops on Power Plant Automation in India which even many industries are also encouraging. He said he is happy to be a part in the two day workshop being organized on Big Data Applications in Power Systems on 28 29 September-2018 , to be conducted at JNTUACEA as a joint event of the Subsection.

 

Professor V. Sankar Chair IEEE ATPSS and along with Chair PES/PELS/IAS chapter asked the members of the meeting to suggest a logo for the IEEE ATPSS from the Logos which were designed and shared by many members of the IEEE Subsection.

 

In the presence of all the Subsection Members and the Student Branch Counselors the meaning of each logo is discussed and a logo is finalized as the IEEE Ananthapuramu Subsection Logo and is attached here with.

 

The Chair of the IEEE ATPSS also explained about the non-inclusion of IEEE Ananthapuramu Subsection in the slate last year and raised it to the IEEE Hyderabad Section and got a confirmation that will be referred to Nomination Committee for 2019 SLATE

 

Different Branch Counselors shared their Student branch activities and benefits of those activities to the students.

  

The members were  happy to note that Prof C. Shoba Bindhu, Secretary of the IEEE ATPSS has been recipient Andhra Pradesh State Award as Best Teacher and received on 5-9-2018. IEEE ATPSS felicitated her.

 

An interactive Session is initiated between the two Chairs and the Student Branch Counselors in which questions like below were discussed and clarified:

• Student Branch Reimbursement Fund of $2 per Student,
• How to add students after the formation of student branch.
• About the Communication gap between the Student Branch and the IEEE Hyderabad Section and IEEE ATPSS.
• How to Register a Student Branch
• How to Utilize the Students benefits and Discounts in IEEE
• Student Grants and Allowances.
• Registrations of all the Student Branches in Whats app

For which both the chairs gave a very clear and a neat explanation to all the questions and also suggested them, the rules/protocols which are needed to be followed.

 

IEEE CIS Hyderabad Summer School 2018 program is oriented to all the members on the topic Computational Intelligence: Theory, Implementation and Applications 22^nd – 27^th Nov 2018, by Dr. T. Hithendra Sarma, Secretary - cum – Treasurer of CIS, Hyderabad Section.

 

Professor V. Sankar Chair IEEE ATPSS said that in collaboration with Education Society, Hyderabad Section, a 3 Day workshop on Educational Pedagogy during Nov-15,16,17 of 2018 is being planned.

 

Apart from this, very good interactions were held between the industrial and Academic Members which made everyone to plan many activates which are needed for strengthening of the ATPSS.
