ONLINE COMPETITIONS CONDUCTED IN THE VIEW OF IEEE DAY 2018
The IEEE Madras Education Society along with the IEEE Madras Photonics Society conducted several online competitions throughout the Madras Section in the view of IEEE Day 2018, under the guidance of Dr. A. Darwin Jose Raju, Chairman of IEEE MAS EduSoc.
The initial step was taken by Dr. A. Darwin Jose Raju and the organizing team was formed on the Online Meeting of IEEE MAS EduSoc Office Bearers held on 7th August, 2018. The team was coordinated by Dr. A. Darwin Jose Raju, with Dr. P. Lovelin Auguskani, Immediate Past Chairman of IEEE MAS EduSoc as the Event Organizer, Ms. A. S. Karthika, Project Lead of IEEE MAS EduSoc as the Competition Organizer, Er. C. Jinesh, Vice-Chairman of IEEE MAS EduSoc as the Video Contest in-charge, Er. B. Sharath, Secretary of IEEE MAS EduSoc as the in-charge of Crypt It, Er. P. R. Vishnu, Treasurer of IEEE MAS YP AG as the Photo Contest in-charge, Mr. J. G. Benny Jackson, Treasurer of IEEE MAS EduSoc as the in-charge of Poster Design contest, Ms. R. Ankayarkanni, Program Lead of IEEE MAS EduSoc as the in-charge of Creative Engineers contest and Ms. Kavyashree Prakashan, Finance Lead of IEEE MAS EduSoc as the in-charge of Doodling contest.
Further plans and suggestions were made in the team meetings held online on 11th August, 2018 and 3rd September, 2018, and in the offline meeting held on 15th September, 2018 at St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering, Nagercoil.
The information about the competitions was circulated throughout the Section via mail on 16th August, 2018. The contestants were kept updated about the deadline for submissions and Crypt It, via the official FaceBook page of IEEE MAS EduSoc. Around 48 entries were reported within the deadline (15th September, 2018).
Among these, the submissions which was abided by the rules of the contests were considered for evaluation and the best among them were chosen for the first two places. The “Crypt It” – online quiz, was conducted in the FaceBook page of IEEE MAS EduSoc on 13th, 14th and 15th October 2018. The winners for all the competitions were announced and the gift vouchers were mailed to them on 28th November, 2018.
The organizing team is bound to mention the gratitude towards Dr. A. Darwin Jose Raju, Dr. P. Lovelin Auguskani, Dr. T. D. Subash, Chairman of IEEE MAS Photonics Society and all in-charges for their efforts and support for the successful completion of this event.
