IEEE CS CHAPTER INAUGURATION EVENT.

With nearly 15 student members, IEEE GCET SB initiated the computer society student chapter at the GCET campus. IEEE GCET computer society student chapter caters to bridge between theory and application by organizing conferences, guest lectures, student seminars, workshops, events on a very routine basis.

EVENT:

The event commenced with the inaugural of IEEE GCET Computer Society student chapter by the chief guest Dr. M. A .Jabbar(vice chair-IEEE cs chapter Hyderabad Section). It was presided by Dr.Rajanikanth Aluvalu(Secretary-IEEE CS chapter Hyderabad section), Mr. Sharif Mohammad, Mr. G. Somasekhar (chapter advisor).

All the students of CSE witnessed the event. More the 150 students attended the ceremony.

Soon after the lamp lightening ceremony , the student branch counsellor (Mrs. S. Jyothirmaee) addressed the gathering. She appreciated the responsibility taken up by the students in forming the chapter. The student chairperson(Kancharla Hruthika) was then asked to speak about the IEEE CS chapter of the college. Then Dr. M. A. Jabbar addressed the gathering. He appreciated the initiative of starting computer society chapter. Later Dr.Rajanikanth Alavalu, Mr. Sharif Mohammad also congratulated the team for their great work in forming the IEEE CS chapter. Then Mr. G. Somasekhar spoke a few words about the team’s future plans regarding the chapter .

After the keynote addressing by the dignitaries , Dr. M. A. Jabbar unveiled the memento having the formal approval letter of CS chapter to GCET by IEEE headquarters.

After a break of about 5 minutes Dr.Rajinikanth Aluvalu started with his lecture. He spoke on Digital oppurtunities available in current society. That was overall an interesting lecture and an inspiring one too. He took about 15-20 minutes in explaing the digital society.

Later Mr. Sharif Mohammad took a lecture on benefits of being an IEEE member and what are the perks of volunteering for IEEE events. He gave more than 10 effective reasons for why should a person join IEEE and take an active part in it. He then spoke about his achievements, his journey as an IEEE member . He had achieved a lot more in a very young age . That was way too inspirational for the young generation to set an aim for themselves and work on their goals. He even spoke about the scholarships provided by the IEEE to the best students every year. He also gave a detailed presentation on the IEEE CS congress conducted evey year at different-different stated and places. He motivated students to join IEEE and become a part of an amazing journey as an IEEE CS member . He also released a video of an event called WILCS which is conducted and hosted by the IEEE WIE of our college which is for 2 days(feb 1 -2).

The event turned out to be a grand one and we got tremendous response from the students. The session ended with the distribution of memetos to the dignitaries followed by vote of thanks by Ms.Swathi Danturi(student vice chair).
