1st AGM Peshawar Sub-Section
The 1st Annual General Meeting of IEEE Peshawar sub-section was held on 1st Feb, 2019, hosted by IEEE FAST Student Branch at Fast National University Peshawar Campus. Email was circulated by Mr.Mohsin Kamal and was arranged under his supervision. Meeting was headed by Dr. Muhammad Tariq as a Director FAST NU and current Chairperson IEEE Peshawar Sub-section.
All the Senior members, Graduate members and professional members firstly met Dr.Muhammad Tariq’s office and Chairs along with their Ex-Com members seated in the Conference room where ASSR from ISB section, Syeda Zillay Nain, Briefly took introduction of all members and discussed about vtools reporting of each branch.
The meeting started with the chairperson IEEE Peshawar Sub-Section Dr. Muhammad Tariq formally extending warm welcome to the entire senior and student members of Peshawar and different KP regions sub-sections and shared details on the planning to promote the Peshawar sub-section, and to bring it on front of the line. Apart from this, he also stated the main reasons to promote the KP region and need of Peshawar sub-section as a Peshawar section. Dr. Tariq shared the complete details of the KP region including working and the membership details from the region and the requirements of filling the petition for Peshawar as a section. Apart from all these discussions, he also stated the role newly inducted members can play in promoting the section.
Right after current chair Dr.Tariq’s overview, The Ex-Chair of Peshawar Sub-section Dr. Azam ul asar also shared his view on the benefits of being an IEEE member and the working of IEEE from last few years. He also shared his views on the need of Peshawar as a section, and plus points of this need. He also discussed on the activation of new student branches, affinity groups and the society chapters.
Student Members from different student branches shared their point of views and problems faced by their branches in front of senior members and were discussed one by one by all the senior members present in the meeting. Most importantly, the student members of different branches were convinced with discussion on their problems and considered this AGM as a good step.
Saeed ul Hassan and Khushal Khan also attended the meeting where a brief presentation was presented by Khushal Khan in which he mentioned to create new student branches, to make a healthy plan for dormant student branch across Pwr subsection and arrangement of sessions about scholarships. Mr.Uzair, ASSR Islamabad Section, was in the event too.
The meeting ended with the presentation by the host, IEEE FAST Student Branch work in organizing different events of the year 2018 to the members of the AGM. And their work in organizing the biggest technology event of the province NUTEC’19 was appreciated by all the members. And at the end, there was a refreshment session for all the members and hosts.
