Please join us for IEEE Vancouver Section Annual General Meeting & Gala 2019
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Gala is held annually by the Vancouver Section to conduct certain formal business of the Section after the year end. Beyond conducting the official business of the Section, the AGM & Gala provides an opportunity for recognizing and honoring outstanding individuals and groups within the Section.
We have an exciting evening planned for our members, guests and friends – a great venue, delicious food, an outstanding keynote speaker and the opportunity to network with your friends and colleagues!
The evening also includes:
- Networking mixer before the banquet
- Student Poster competition with cash prices for best posters
- Raffle with all proceeds going to IEEE Canada Foundation
- Tickets will not be sold at the door. Tickets will not be sold after March 27th.
- A delicious buffet dinner - the buffet options will accommodate vegetarian diets.

Biography:
As TELUS’ Chief Customer Officer, Tony Geheran leads Customer Service Excellence (CSE), an organization of more than 12,500 team members dedicated to creating a friendlier future by enriching Canadians’ lives through the power of technology and elevating the customer service experience. CSE team members look after all aspects of the customer service journey for Mobility and Home Solutions as well as the deployment of TELUS’ PureFibre network and digital strategy. The CSE team’s scope of responsibility includes contact centres, installation and assurance of home services, digital solutions, wireline network operations, and much more.
Tony joined TELUS in 2001, most recently serving as Executive Vice-President and President of Broadband Networks, where he and his team developed the TELUS PureFibre program from the ground up, bringing gigabit-enabled and symmetrical Internet connectivity directly to homes and businesses in more than 100 communities across Alberta, B.C. and Quebec. This world-class network provides customers with unprecedented speed and reliability, helping drive innovation in the delivery of education, healthcare solutions and 5G technology while connecting more Canadians to the global digital economy.
Tony has a wealth of experience in the telecommunications industry having previously led several teams in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. As a Director with Cable & Wireless Communications, Tony oversaw a multi-million dollar investment to bring new data, mobile and voice solutions to Ireland. He also specialized in Managed Services and Business Services with Mercury Communications and NYNEX Cablecomms UK.
Tony is a graduate of the Cranfield School of Management with a Diploma in Professional Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He holds a Professional Certificate in Business Administration from Open University and received his Professional Qualifications in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering while serving in the Royal Navy. He proudly serves as a board member of the Vancouver General Hospital and UBC Future of Surgery Campaign Cabinet.
