Biography:

Dr Walter L. Whipple Ph.D., P.E.

(M.S.E., Ph.D., UMich, Computer, Information and Control Engineering, 1974, 1988, B.S. Engineering Science, Harvey Mudd College, 1962) is a Registered Professional Engineer (Electrical) in California, is past chair of Los Angeles Council, Santa Barbara Section, Central Coast Section, and Santa Barbara Computer Chapter and a Life Senior Member of the IEEE.  He has taught at Cal Poly Pomona and San Luis Obispo, Harvey Mudd College, and New York Institute of Technology.  His employment includes General Electric, Raytheon Space and Information Systems Division, Control Data, General Dynamics, Raytheon Electromagnetic Systems Division, Symbol Technologies (now Motorola), and Quadlogic Controls.  His contract assignments include Mission Research, Tura Inc., United Parcel Service, Microsoft, American Buildings, Tellabs, Boeing Satellite Systems, Indigo Systems, Lockheed Martin Space Systems, and Aerojet General.    He is a retiree of Raytheon Company.
