IEEE 125th Anniversary Celebration

In 1894, Chicago was busting with pride after showing the World what the city was capable of at the 1893 Columbian Exhibition.  It was a booming time for the fledging electric industry and engineering giants like Westinghouse, Tesla, Steinmetz and Edison came to show their latest inventions.  Also, in 1894, the first Chicago Section meeting was held at the Armour Institute, now know as the Illinois Institute of Technology.

It has been 125 years since that first meeting and in recognition, the Chicago Section will celebrate with a showcase event on Saturday April 27th at the newly opened Kaplan Institute on the campus of IIT.  All Chicago Section Technical Chapters, Affiliates, and Student Branches will be on hand to present what their organization does and to answer any questions.  This event is open to all Chicago Section Members, Student Branch Members, College, Middle and High School Students, along with their families.  All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
