Hands-on Introduction to Octave/Scilab for Electronics/Communications
GNU Octave is an open-source software for mathematical computing and is compatible to MATLAB.
Scilab is also an open-source mathematical software from Scilab Enterprises. Since these tools are free, students with access to personal computers can use them to carry out a number of lab exercises. These tools can also be useful in carrying out projects. In this class, the participants will gain a hands-on introduction to the programming constructs in Octave/Scilab. We will choose examples from analog and digital circuits to illustrate the capabilities of the tools.
