RF over Fiber Optics systems and its application to Radio Telescopes
Biography:
Mr. S. Sureshkumar has received his B.Sc in Physics from University of Madras followed by B.Tech and M.Tech from Anna University and College of Engineering Pune respectively. He is currently working as Engineer-F of GMRT observatory under NCRA, TIFR. He has a professional experience of more than 26 years and serving as the current group head for Fiber optics, Feeds, Frontend systems and RFI mitigation groups. He has worked in RF over fiber for both DWDM and CWDM applications along with Long Haul Gigabit Ethernet Link – CWDM based long haul GBE Fiber Optic link for Data transport apart from his fundamental research on Antenna Feeds and Receiver Electronics. As deputation, he had visited Jodrell Bank Radio Telescope Observatory, Astron, University of Calgary, NRAO, University of Mexico and FAST Telescope. He designed a low cost switch able 16 beam former (using Butler Matrix) for MEXART project, Instituto de Geofisca UNAM Mexico. Further, he was involved in installation of IRNSS (Indian Regional Navigational Satellite System) of ISRO at GMRT in a EMI shielded container.
